Given how sony handled the PSP and the Vita, will YOU buy another SONY handheld?

Yeah both psp and vita are great hardware and a ton of great features and a lot of good games far better then what the competition is/was capable of. I do think they need a bit more support though.

My Vita has hardly had a rest since i got it at launch.
My PSP is most guranteed my most played gaming device PERIOD.
Yeah, im pretty sure i would get a new handheld at launch, just like i did for psp and vita.
I wouldnt expect a new Sony handheld until 2018 or so, so yeah, for sure i would get the new one.

Sure thing. I like the games I have for the Vita right now and I still have a huge backlog of games on the PSP.

I'd like to add something tangentially related as well: What's really disappointing (for me) with the Vita is the lack of support that gamers here show for it... or for the 3DS for that matter. No one seems interested in gaming on a real handheld anymore and most people seem satisfied with playing unoriginal gameloft clones of better games. Hot Shots Golf Series vs Gameloft's Let's Golf Series etc.

I dunno, maybe in the U.S., everyone's walkin around playing with a 3DS or something (or at least that's the impression I get from hanging around these boards), but here in the Philippines, everyone's playing games with their Samsung Galaxy, iPad or Smartphone. Dunno if actually playing or just showing off sometimes :P. (maybe a little bit of both?).

Most likely, I love my PSP and my Vita. If they do create another future handheld, I hope it has "true" backward compatibility.

I don't know. I've spent more $$ on my Vita and memory cards than I have my on my 3DS and 3DS XL combined, yet I have gotten much more entertainment from my 3DS.

and before I get accused of practicing mathemagics here are the numbers:

- $170 for 3DS
+ $100 trade in credit for said 3DS
- $200 for 3DS XL

vs.

- $250 for Vita
- $30 8 GB memory card
+ $16 for sale of 8 GB memory card
- $45 for used 16 GB memory card

Yes.
PSP and Vita had the best launches of any system I own.
PSP started the age of "smart" consoles, with upgradable firmware and proper multimedia functionality
Vita brought us true multitasking

Nope it's a fact, psp and vita are capable of things DS and 3DS weren't/aren't (respectively)

Do you not own any games, and of course vita is more expensive it has far better hardware and 3DS got a massive price drop
