I just got a Vita

it was used.

When I try to sign in, it says that I need to sign in with existing PSN ID that was already registered to the system. How do I get rid of the existing one and put in my own PSN ID?

Try reformatting the system in System Settings.

Yeah, go to System Settings, Format, then Restore the PS Vita System.

Welcome to the greatest handheld ever made club!

Also you may need the password to the account to remove it from the Vita.
If so hold down the power button (the one on the top) for 20 seconds and format the system.

I tried this, but it's trying to make me sign in with the existing account, which I'm simply trying to delete
