It could be better, it's awkward though. There's no scheme you can use to put movement on the left and analog aiming on the right.

If you're comfortable with South Paw controls I could see it working out.

Otherwise you're still stuck relying on auto-aim and/or using digital aim controls.

Like, it's not horrible, and it's still kind of amazing that they crammed such a complete experience like that on the PSP, but the Vita itself needs a wider variety of control options to make it something approaching a solid shooter experience to modern standards.

This has been true about all of the PSP shooters people say do well on Vita using the various joystick options on the Vita so far to me. Most of them only support digital aiming or the mechanics aren't friendly to fully manual aim.

But this is all my opinion and your mileage may vary.

Do they have a full instant action mode in this game? Like with vehicles and space missions?

You have to transfer it from a PS3.

Here's a handy thread of additional compatibilities:

Nice! I just got my Vita a week ago so I didn't know you could do that. But being a 2 year PS3 owner, I feel like I should have heard about this before now. Thanks for the info!

Yes they do. There's no story mode. Instant Action is essentially the entire game. There are exclusive Bounty Hunter Missions but nothing impressive. There's also the hero vs hero map in the game as well where you duke it out as Good/Evil Heroes.
