Online passes for vita games...are they serious?

I thought I was paying $15 a month to play my vita online (3G), and now I have to pay another $10 if I buy a used game?

I bought wipEout 2048 for $9 on amazon and the online pass costs $10. Is this serious? PS all stars needs one too, and I'm sure there are other games. EA realized this was a mistake, and I hope Sony will too.

Inb4 EA makes something worse than online passes,

I agree though, paying 40-50 dollars for a used game and having to pay another 10 bucks to play online is crap

By the way, the amazon page for wipEout 2048 does not mention anything about an online pass. It lists all the multiplayer features that come with the game, but it does not mention that you have to pay extra for those features. Isn't this false advertising?

maybe it's misinformed advertising, they might not be aware of that

They want you to pay for the service they provide. Is there something wrong with that?

Why do people think that paying for Xbox Live or 3G would somehow exclude them from paying other fees for online gaming? The online pass is paid to Sony/EA/Activision/whatever because they don't like that you buy games used while Xbox Live is to Microsogt and 3G is to AT&T for a completely unrelated service.

Don't buy used games. Devs have all the right to charge you for a sale they just lost.

This. Don't buy used. Problem solved. Buy new, support the industry, not gamestop. If you can't find the game, wait for a sale and buy it on PSN.
