Every PS4 owner who wants to play online will have to pay for PS+ now... And PS+ owners will slowly be given out an increasingly tempting library of Vita titles for free... Eventually when PS4 owners have 10 or so really good Vita games sitting on their PS4 HDD, Sony drops the price of Vita and...

I really don't think so. While playing PS4 games on the Vita may be a great side feature, I don't believe that it's a strong enough selling point on its own. Vita needs its own library.

That's not what I meant. PS4 PS+ subscribers will be given free VITA games. They'll download them to their PS4 HDD, just in case they may have a Vita one day. Then eventually, they actually have a pretty good library of Vita games , the hardware gets a price cut and they take the plunge.

Giving PS4 owners free Vita games may be what entices them to buy a Vita

Three things got me to buy a Vita:

1) Muramasa announcement (i.e. a system needs games that people want to play on it)

2) PS+ having games I was going to buy anyway (Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Wipeout)

3) A good deal on the hardware (the Amazon Black Friday deal)

If Sony can do this and actually advertise it well then they may sell some Vitas.

I just bought a PS4. Oh, I need PS+ to play online? Fine then...

Lets see what free games are available... Oh Uncharted Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush? Well I don't own a Vita, but I'll download them anyway just in case I buy a Vita at some stage.

*1 year later*

I have 10 Vita games, and I want to play them

*Vita price drop*

*buys Vita*

PS+ is the reason I ended up getting a Vita. I had a pile of games that I wanted to play sitting on my PS3. Literal every single game that I wanted to play on Vita - Uncharted, Wipeout, Gravity Rush, Ninja Gaiden Sigma (more for curiousity's sake to see how it looked and played), Retro City Rampage, etc. Plus all those cross-buy games I had - Sly, Guacamelee, Sound Shapes.

If they give away enough games, you sort of get pushed into it. I don't know if PS+ will continue to be so good though. It will become ubiquitous if you need it to play online so I doubt they will give away so many copies of free games.
