Looks like it's confirmed, song are heading towards turning the Vita into an Indie machine.
No longer will we still an abundance of AAA titles worthy of moving the portable, but now instead these 3 quid a pop indie titles.

SCE president Shuhei Yoshida said these in a recent interview:

Sony realizes Western AAA developers are not investing in Vita due to low return.
Therefore their Vita strategy in the west are shifting to indie games.

Japanese market naturally have more developers interested in Vita so Japanese Vita gamers will see more Japanese AAA games in the future.

For us, future Vita library will be this: Vita native games + indie games + PS3/PS4 remote play+ ports, where indie game will be the main focus.

Thank God this system is such a powerhouse, how else would it run the indie games?

Slightly misleading title. All it means is its just gonna be the same as it's been, with low western support and probably the same amount of eastern support we've been seeing.

Western Devs never flocked to handhelds to begin wi. At worst, well just see them even less now.

Old news. That doesn't means they won't ever release AAA games, we know Bend is working on one and there are some third party titles and multiplats(most recent one was Dragon Ball Z) as the userbase grows we ll see more.

How fun~ Japan getting strong support, this is what I like to hear. I do feel bad for NA gamers though. Well, the one percent that didn't scream doom and gloom at the top of their lungs every day. And Europe. I forgot they are considered the west too.
