What a misguided and moronic attempt by Sony to fix problems that never existed. RAM isn't the Vita's reason for incredibly poor side functionality, it is poor coding and resources being reserved for games that aren't RAM. Vita does not run Android and therefore is already inferior as a smart device. Nobody EVER complained of the Vita's screen being too small. Ridiculous. I sincerely shop this rumour is false.
More RAM would mean more apps running at the same times as games and a more snappy UI. It's unnecessary, but an extra 500mb of RAM is extremely cheap and relatively decent upgrade for a UI. It's hardly "ridiculous".
ISuppli sez the RAM already costs $9. In any case, it is completely and totally ridiculous to believe a bigger screen and marginally improved background apps (because I doubt RAM alone is the bottleneck) will fix the Vita's crap sales. --- http://i.imgur.com/Tk5qqZc.png "I dont combine the 3DS and LL together to inflate the numbers. I don't think this will happen. The vita is selling poorly, releasing a brand new reiteration KNOWING they don't have good backers would be stupid. Unless they pull a boatload of magnificent games out of their butts to actually start moving units.

Fake rumor. The Tokyo Keizai newspaper doesn't exist.
