I hope the Vita starts selling better now.

If it does hopefully we can get more localizations. I'm still hoping to see Tales of Innocence R/Hearts R. The Vita's library has so much potential just it needs the system sales before said library can grow. :<

These games were also on the DS(best selling game system of all time) and still never got localized. Namco isn't going to localize these games.

Second-best selling system of all-time!

Nintendo DS discontinued the DS in April, 2013 at 153.87 million. The PS2 was at 155 million as of March 2012 (it was discontinued in January 2013).

Sony always wins baby. :p

They both had advantages though. A lot of parents bought multiple DS units for their kids (like if they had two children they bought a DS for each of them), plus the upgraded versions (DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL) were reason to upgrade than the PS2's redesigns.

For PS2 it was obviously on the market for a lot longer but I doubt many houses had multiple PS2s, especially at any given time (whereas it wasn't uncommon for multiple DS units being in a single house). The PS2 slim wasn't really an upgrade either and I don't think many people rushed out to trade in their PS2 fatty models for a slim.

Either way two of the best systems ever. :p

I've never seen an accurate source for that 155m figure, actually. If you can find me one, cool, because as it stands, I'm pretty certain it's just a rounded nber.

In the first post go down to the forth block (PS3/PS2 Worldwide Unit Sales (Sell-in / Unit: Million))

The last known PS2 figure was 155.1 million (March 31, 2012).

DS had about 5 revisions and people lump DSi sales with DS too, PS2 had only 1. That's why comparing DS to PS2 is utterly stupid. Plus ones a home console the other is a portable. Multiple people in the family can own a DS. generally only 1 household has of the same home console.

This is as of September 2011:

http://www.scei.co.jp/corporate/release/pdf/111122_e.pdf

Maintaining its position as one of the most successful consumer electronic products in history, PlayStation 2 has sold over 153.6 million systems worldwide.

Nintendo officially pulled the plug on the DS at 153.87 million in April 2013. The PS2 was at 153.6 million in September 2011 and officially discontinued in January 2013.

It's hard to get exact PS2 figures because when the Vita started flopping Sony combined the Vita and PSP shipments together and because of that they had to combine the PS2 and PS3 together (otherwise they'd be called out for combining Vita+PSP but reporting PS2 and PS3 separately). Still going by shipment numbers the PS2 was at 155.1 million in March 2012. After that it's anyone's guess.

Bu bu but don't you know that everyone's PS2 broke like six times each (DAMN YOU DRE!!!) and thus people just bought seven PS2s instead of one? Plus everyone bought PS2s to watch DVDs anyway!

(said Nintendo and Microsoft fans all throughout the 2000s when the PS2 was dominating the GameCube and Xbox's combined sales :p)
