Buy Vita 1000 for 169 or wait for vita 2000? Is it worth it at this price?

Just get a PS2 then. Much cheaper.

If you have to get a Vita, then get the 1000. The 2000 is honestly a downgrade. (cheaper parts)

buying a game system for a single game and no knowledge of the rest of its library is not a smart move.

If you do go through with it the 2000 can only be imported and has a lower quality screen.
The 2000 has no set date to be release outside of Japan, or confirmation that it ever will be.

The 2000 has an hour more battery like and is lighter and thinner. It's back touchpad isn't to scale of the front touch screen.

The 2000 is region free so you can import from amiami play Asia or nipon yasan.

I would suggest finding other games before getting the device and I would personally reccomend the 1000 series vita.

TC, ignore Over30Virgin and his alt UgliestManAlive (his other alt was suspended). For your own sake.

Anyways, you can probably find the 1000 for a better price than $169, unless that's a bundle Black Friday deal. I've seen them as low as $128 and that's just on Amazon.

With regards to 1000 vs 2000, I'd say two factors reign prominent: price and OLED. If price and having an OLED screen are REALLY important to you then stick with the 1000. Otherwise, the 2000 has better battery life and a more comfortable design.

Yeah, ignore me but listen to the guy who tells you to spend over $250 just to play ONE GAME.

Zandm7 is a troll on this board. Just ignore him.

That depends on you man. Personally I'm satisfied with the Vita's library, but it differs for everyone. My advice is to go to the Metacritic page for the Vita. Sort by all-time highest rated and go down the list. Check out EVERY game, not just the ones you recognize, and note which ones might interest you. If there are enough for your liking, then go ahead and buy the system. If P4G is literally the only game you want, you might want to reconsider unless you either never owned a PSP, already have PS+, or both.

In all seriousness, unless you're horny for bright colors and black blacks or whatever, just go for the 2000. The only thing cheaper is the screen, everything else is an upgrade. And even the screen is just preference. I personally prefer the colors on the LCD version.

TC, You should definitely try what Zandm suggests, but also take into account digital only releases or PSP/PS1 classics available. Maybe check out the Vita Playstation store on your computer and look at all the titles available. For me, this was my deciding factor in getting a Vita. It is the perfect machine for a Playstation lover. The PS1 classics look fantastic on the small screen and can be customized to your liking(changing controls, screen size/fitting,etc.), as do the PSP games. The Vita games were honestly just like a bonus to me. It's true that there aren't that many, but the ones we get are usually high-quality and last a long time, like P4G and Soul Sacrifice.
