Sony blames smartphones and tablets for Vita failing

*sighs and shakes my head*

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/sony-explains-why-playstation-vita-has-come-up-short/1100-6417101/

I love this logic, it clearly cannot be anything they've done, no no, it's the mobile games and the "complicated" market.

Not the over priced memory cards, the still overpriced system or anything like that, the fact they let it sit in purgatory all this time instead of at least developing some first party games to entice people (more so than the few they did make)

It's the mobile gaming market that is to blame. Despite the fact 3DS is thriving like crazy in the so called complicated market that mobile gaming is such a threat to.

Sony`s stupidity knows no bounds. I`m kinda glad they`re about ready to bite the big one, they just aren`t the same anymore.

the still overpriced system

Stopped reading there. There are Vita's going for 180 at stores. That's about as much as a regular 3DS. The XL goes for 200 dollars.

They are correct. Lots of gamers are just in denial as to where the gaming industry is headed.

Angry Birds is the future of hardcore gaming.

I'm sure Sony knows this is a line of bull but they won't ever admit that they sent their system out to die expecting developers to flock to it like they did in the PS1/2 days.

Most third party devs flock to home consoles like PS3 and Xbox 360.

Sony needs to keep it afloat with first party support. Sadly, they're mostly focusing on PS4 to do that.

That and Nintendo handhelds.
And Sony should have known this when they released the Vita. They should of known that they were going to have to shoulder most of the software development. They should of known that a PSP type situation would never happen again.

Kmart recently had them for $130. Not counting that, bundles generally run $200 for the Vita a game and a 4GB card. XL bundles run $200 the XL a game and a 4GB card. 4GB is plenty to get you started too, especially if you go physical.
