Persona 1 / Innocent Sin / Eternal Punishment

Which would you all recommend I get, and in what order? I'm a huge fan of dungeon crawlers and turn-based combat, and am particularly into SMT and its related series'. (They're all on sale right now, in case anyone didn't know.)

My friend says Innocent Sin is better than EP due to censorship in the latter actually impacting its story. Although, they are apparently pseudo-chronological, so not exactly the same game as I had thought they were.

Playing Virtue's Last Reward before 999? Don't. Please, for the sake of everything, don't. My crusade around the internet to spread this truth goes on.

I really liked persona 2 duology but if your in it more for the story either play persona leading into innocent sin or play innocent sin leading into ep. IS/EP has some ties to persona few characters appear later in both but you dont ne essarily need to play persona to understand the story of the duology.

Same could be saud for the duology itself actually but doesnt hurt story much imo as it is sorta standalone

You friend needs a slap

One is not better then the other. Both are apart of one story, if you're not going to play both since there now no reason not to just cause one is better is plan stupid.

I don't have Eternal Punishment yet, but Innocent Sin is really good. I'd get the Persona 2 Duology, at least. Persona 1 is pretty... hit or miss.

Also, I thought you already had Persona 1? Or is my memory foggy? @_@

Yup, I had P1 on a UMD. Didn't get more than 5 hours into it though due to backlog, and now I'd rather play it on a Vita screen.

Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment are two halves of the same game, Innocent Sin is first and Eternal Punishment is second. I would say go with them since they are personally my favorite Persona game. But the first game will help you with background information and some of the characters that appear in the Persona 2 games.

Between those, Persona 1 was a big hit for me.

Persona 2 IS was my least favorite game in the series.

Persona 2 EP I was waiting for a PSP port which is never happening so have not got around to it.

Persona 1 tries it's best to feel like the more modern Persona games, but it's age will show at times. Plus the encounter rate is high as f***

Still has a godly soundtrack.

I haven't played a lot of it, but Persona 1 is fun. Plus, with the high difficulty, at least they included Auto Battle to make things a little bit easier.
