Does the vita output much heat when downloading in stand by mode?

In other words, can I put it in a closed case when downloading in stand by mode with no harm to it?

It doesn't emit any heat at all.

Playing Virtue's Last Reward before 999? Don't. Please, for the sake of everything, don't. My crusade around the internet to spread this truth goes on.

Only time i have noticed heat is when playing 2 hours gaming session of hardware taxing game, and even then we are talking slightly warm rear panel. I haven't really noticed any heating in downloading stuff.

People are using silicone protection skins on their Vita and i haven't heard any overheating stories yet, so i don't think that cases would harm it one bit.

It's only the screen that emits heat.
