And the Slimassurance train begins picking up steam.
You put that far more simply than I did.
Now, for those who do not yet own a Vita, go for it, you'll never know what you missed out on if you never experienced it to begin with. The Vita has some great titles and will continue to get great exclusives,
Price point is dropping down for the Vita "Slim" by $20 from the current price point of the Wi-Fi Vita. So instead of a $200 MSRP it'll carry a $180 MSRP.
What has also been neglected from mention is that the 3G/Wi-Fi model has been discontinued. Paying a cellular company for internet access on the go was not a feature I had need of, but still thought it was a nice option. Well, it's not an option anymore.

I wouldn't touch a Vita 2000. OLED >>>>>> LCD. I love the size and weight of the Vita 1000 and wouldn't want it any lighter or smaller. I bought a $20 recharge pack that can give the Vita up to 2x the battery life on top of the 3 hours, so "improved battery" is not a factor. When I play portables, I want near 6-10 hours of gameplay, not 3 or 4, and this portable $20 investment allows that. Internal memory? Not necessary.
How is the touch screen sensitivity on the 2000? Better, worse, or no difference? That's the deciding factor for me.
How are the back Grips & touch pad on the 2000 ?
That is one of the main things for me. I don't like the size of the back touch pad on the OLED Vita and the grips seem too small.
* I've only tried the Vita at a Gamestop for like 5 minutes and liked it, but noticed the really small buttons, which wasn't great, and also the grips in back seemed kind of small.
How does the 2000 feel to hold ? Is it more comfortable ?

Only an hour more than OLED.
I own both a launch Vita and an imported white slim 2000. An hour more of battery is lowballing it. In my experience - and I keep testing it over and over because I feel the need to debunk bad info - it is more like 3-5 hours longer.

JiZamez posted...Only an hour more than OLED.
You must have some special 2000, cause mine only lasts around 1-2 hours more than the original.
Anyone here who uses electronics at all past casual use should be applauding this. Micro USB! Down with proprietary connectors! Now if only they would start working on those memory cards...
I own a 1000 and I am seriously considering getting the new model. The screen looks good on my current Vita, but I fear for the day that the blues start fading and the colors get distorted when the OLED ages. I haven't held a new model yet, but I am hoping that it feels a little more comfortable in my hands. I can never find an optimal way to hold it without bumping the rear touchpad.
I'll wait until the 3000 before upgrading. Improved battery life is great, but I don't game for long sessions on handhelds anymore anyways. Besides, I just got my 1000.
Currently playing: Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, Amnesia, Portal 2, and lots of Indie games

The battery isn't improved. According to a review I read, it's a frequent misconception, but it is the exact same battery. The reason for the longer charge is because of the LCD screen drawing less power.
Touhou is love. Welcome to Gensokyo!
Another thread of about how 2000 is better than 1000. To be honest
either one is fine, If you have have the 1000 keep it and if you just new to Vita
then buy the 2000. Either way you get to play the same game.
