Alternately, can I download from a PS3 with an european account and the copy the games on a Vita with a NA account?

For Vita - don't even go there.

Yes, it's possible for you to get an EU account, but it's a pain in the rear end and requires two memory cards. You have to reset your Vita to factory settings, de-register it from your US account, then switch to the other memory card and register that with the EU store. Once you've finished, you have to do the same chore to switch back again, remembering not to accidentally hit the button to format either card during the changeover.

For PS3 it's well worth it - I have three accounts attached to mine, my home UK account and both US / JPN accounts as well. You have to buy the top-up cards online from a retailer who'll charge you in dollars for a top-up card in GBP or Euros depending on which country you register your account in (I'd suggest the UK if you're going to do it.)

This is one of the best places for the cards:

And no - you cannot download using a European account on your PS3 and play the games on your US account on your Vita. They just won't work - the machine has to be linked to the same region as the games, so if you're on your EU account, your US games won't work, and your EU games won't work while on your US account.

1 card = 1 region account active on the Vita at any one time. Thank the hackers who ripped the PSP apart in their hunt for the best custom firmware and the best way to play pirated games for spoiling it for the rest of us. The high cost custom encrypted memory cards, the one account per Vita rule and the linking of games to your PSN account are all because of how cracked the PSP was.

Is it possible to download from my european PS3 account and then transfer to my NA PS3 account and them transfer to my NA Vita account?

No, the origin point of your games will be the EU, so that's how they'll register - each game has a hard-coded location code that never changes.

So it's impossible to have FF1-2 (PSP) on a NA Vita without switching accounts and/or hacking it?

For the first question the answer is no. You must buy currency psn cards for the account. MMOGA.com is great place for that.

Don't even try hacking your Vita - Sony locked the thing up tight after the PSP incidents, so your account will be banned in no time. Yes, it's impossible to have FF1-2 PSP version without switching accounts.

Revel in the fact that you can have Xenogears and a whole load more classics that we in the EU cannot get without having to do the same account switching nonsense.

I don't want to hack my Vita. Is it possible to have download them on a PSP without all this nuisance?
