I have noticed significant choppiness when scrolling the menus and apps within the OS. I have compared both models side by side and the Vita slim is definitely performing poorly when scrolling. If performing a flick gesture, the scrolling animation seems to be fine and smooth. However, if I keep me finger down and drag, the scrolling is very choppy. I can't figure what is going on, but I want to return this thing. Anyone else experience this?
OLED is a bit more fragile. I recall dropping my Vita 1000 on its back and everything seemed all right. The next day, the screen had burn-in, yellowish saturation, and things just started to go bad from there. I sold my defunct OLED Vita to Gamestop for $55 and bought a Vita 2000.
I had a OLED (which was stolen), now I have the slim. Before getting the slim, i was undecided about it because of all the horror stories your read here. Now i have it, there is nothing wrong with the screen on the slim, plus all the benefits, longer battery life(at least 3 more hours for me), micro usb charging, the refined back touch pad, the improved feel of it. it is much better than the 1000.
i took my old vita back to asda after 6mnths "dropped it in the mop bucket " anyway they swapped it no probs might i add and it was only when i got home and unboxed it realised it was the vita slim .now at first i aas very sceptical until i played my first game and all those things peope were saying. about the screen and other negatives were blown away completely, the screen is sharper the colours were more natural and it is soooo combfy to hold i love it if ur worried about the new slim dont its ace oh and always buy ur stuff from asda 6mnths and hry just swapped it and didnt ask for the 8 gig memory card that came with the old vita
