I'm using the PS Vita, 'cause I don't have my PSP anymore. Because of that, some people favor the original Final Fantasy Tactics for PS1 over the PSP remake, so, can anyone tell me the difference?

Also, I've never played a Disgaea game, for it wasn't interesting to me. It's an option 'cause I can't judge a book by its cover.

I liked all of Square Enix's PSP games, so it's probably easier for me to enjoy their games, but I'm aware there are other options, so I want to know what other RPGs there are.

I do look at Critics' Reviews, so an acceptable score counts. The PSP doesn't exactly have high scores, so I'm pretty light on it. However, I don't want Lord of Arcana or Valhalla Knights as an option, due to their reviews.

Lastly, these are the games I currently have:

-Dissidia 012: [duodecim] Final Fantasy
-Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection
-Patapon
-Patapon 2
-Patapon 3
-Half-Minute Hero
-Cladun: This is an RPG!

And these were games I got for retail, before I switched to Vita:

-Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix
-Final Fantasy Type-0
-Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity
-Valkyria Chronicles 2

This is a hard choice as they are almost all great depending on what you want out of the game.

Best Action/customization: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite(but has no story or statbuilding besides building gear
Best Story: FFT or Tactics Ogre(But is only good if you want to buy an SRPG)
Funniest Games: Disgaea and Phantom Brave(But the former is very grindtastic)

So, what do you want out of your RPG?

Overall, I'd say you can't go wrong with MH and TO or FFT. That said, MH is VERY hit or miss and requires some dedication to fall in love. That first Kut-ku fight(Khezu honestly, if you ask me) is really going to gauge whether you like the game and spend hundreds of hours playing, or saying that it "sucks" and that you "don't get the hype".

Oh, and the difference is that PS1 has faster load times and that nostalgia factor. PSP version has better translation, animated cutscenes but can have some pretty bad slowdown when casting spells.

I want to say FFT, but I just can't take the extreme slow down in the jacked up PSP version.

If it's hit or miss I think you CAN go wrong with MH :D I was not willing to dedicate 50 hours before the game "got good."
