How many gems does it take to max stats?

I haven't yet beaten any "rare Navi" (afaik) and I still haven't bothered completing all the challenges yet, seeing as most of them are races and I have more important stuff to level up than shifting speed and gravity slide. So I probably still have a number of gems still to get. I think at the moment, all my triangle powers are maxed to their cap of 5 (oh what I would pay to get their recharge time down) Yeah, here are my stats right now: health 8/11 600 recovery time 3/11 200 shift speed 3/11 200 guage usage 8/11 700 kick 1/5 150 grav kick 5/5 evade 1/5 150 slide kick 1/5 100 stasis field 3/6 800 gravity slide 3/6 800 Spiraling claw 5/5 gravity typhoon 5/5 micro black hole 5/5 So it would cost me 3700 just to upgrade everything I can once, and probably a lot more to do it again. I have 4141 gems, and I think another cap to unlock, and I recently (withing 1000 gems easy) got a gem collector trophy. I'm guessing I'd need to double that to 40,000 for max stats? --- Official intarnet winnar!!! of the 1986 Peppercorn Derby YOUR JUST JELOUS BECAUSE HOW PRETTIE I AM.

I think you'll need to finish the game and at least silver a few challenges and bronz the rest to max stats at the game's (with no dlc) max stats). that's what I've done and I am about 3,500 gems from max stats. That would be (by my guess) approximately 45,000 gems to max out Kat with Top Kat reputation. The dlc increases your maximum rep (and stats, I hear), I'm not sure. It sounds like you need to find gems (as you know), but you also need to increase your rep by going to all the green challenge projects on the maps, and feeding them with gems -- this will activate the challenges associated with them. Fixing them will increase Kat's reputation and give you more gems, if you win medals in the challenges. Don't rule out shifting speed and gravity slide, they are useful -- even outside of challenges. best regards, Piesia
Ok, I'm pretty good for finding gems. I just did the airship race and only managed .30s off gold T___T I also maxed out guage usage and shift speed to max with my crystals, so I figure I can do the easier challenges now, and maybe wait for the last cap to open to make it easier. Thanks again though! --- Official intarnet winnar!!! of the 1986 Peppercorn Derby YOUR JUST JELOUS BECAUSE HOW PRETTIE I AM.

Hmmm. Tips... I've turned off the motion sensitivity, purely because it makes it so difficultt on the bus, but I can actually see it helping here. Pretty much, I aim, fall, and fire forward with x. the powerslide idea is a good one, as sometimes I hit the wall too early for the checkpoints in the arch. I think it has to do with luck too - sometimes a checkpoint will be on the other side of an airship from you, which will take time. Plus, sometimes the camera is a real pain. apart from that, I beat the first rare Navi pretty easy --- Official intarnet winnar!!! of the 1986 Peppercorn Derby YOUR JUST JELOUS BECAUSE HOW PRETTIE I AM.

Thanks very much for the tips! luck is a part of it. ;-P yeah, the camera was a pain in the 2nd special forces mission, too. I constantly got disoriented, which didn't happen too often in other parts of the game. good luck on the other rare nevi, it's worth it for the trophies and you get lots of jewels. I got them all; now it's just the challenges left! --- Official intarnet winnar!!! of the 1986 Peppercorn Derby YOUR JUST JELOUS BECAUSE HOW PRETTIE I AM.

And I'm finished. Might get the DLC at some point. And I don't normally do DLC. --- Official intarnet winnar!!! of the 1986 Peppercorn Derby YOUR JUST JELOUS BECAUSE HOW PRETTIE I AM.

I've only played the special-forces dlc I got with my pre-order, it's an interesting side story -- I'll probably get the rest of the dlc at some point (I also normally don't bother with the extra expense of dlc).
