kikkosauce90Posted 6/20/2012 10:06:09 AM | I don't own a PS3 so I'd have to buy it and I just wanted some opinions/thoughts on if it was worth it, i.e. buy the whole bundle, if one DLC pack is better than the other, etc.
I tried asking on the main vita board but, well, not much of a response as you can see: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/620272-playstation-vita/63161869 |
thedicemasterPosted 6/20/2012 10:29:05 AM | in my opinion it is. you pretty much end up with 3 "complete" wipeout games in 1. you get 2 extra story modes, and 3 times as much vehicles. i got it for free though, because i already had the ps3 version. |
Virtuoso3001Posted 6/20/2012 10:38:16 AM | First off WOHD/Fury is vastly superior on the PS3 due to running at 60fps 1080p and having the Racebox (aka a "quick play" option). Compared to the 2048, WOHD/Fury looks poorly optimized. To me it looks like it isn't even running at Vita native resolution and the lighting is horrible.
Comparing the HD and Fury packs, both the campaigns are roughly the same size however the Fury campaign has 3 new game modes: Zone Battle, Eliminator, and Detonator compared to the HD side which only has classic modes like: Race, Time Trial and Speed Laps (Fury also has these). HD has 12 tracks + the reverse and Fury has 4 tracks + the reverse. |
jatsetjayPosted 6/20/2012 10:44:18 AM | This is going to sound like a really stupid question but where do I find the DLC? I downloaded it, started up 2048 and it installed both packs but then... where? I just see the usual campaigns. Ridiculous question I know but I can't find these new tracks. |
Virtuoso3001Posted 6/20/2012 10:51:32 AM | ???
The main menu has the 3 campaigns (2048, HD, and Fury) selectable...... .. .. . |
jatsetjayPosted 6/20/2012 11:21:27 AM | Really? Hmmm...sounds like something has gone wrong with my installation. I'll try redownloading. Thanks. |
Sp8cemanSpiffPosted 6/20/2012 12:03:37 PM | Doesn't look quite as slick and polished as the 2048 content (but higher framerates aside, neither do HD and Fury on the PS3. 2048 just looks incredible) Still looks very nice and plays fine. (there's nothing wrong with the lighting either) Definitely worth it in my opinion.
That said, WTF at no racebox again. --- "When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up. -C.S. Lewis |
Sp8cemanSpiffPosted 6/20/2012 2:04:43 PM | Another little thing worth mentioning: Wipeout HD and Wipeout Fury tracks load a lot quicker. --- "When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up. -C.S. Lewis |

Seems you need the online pass. |
Sp8cemanSpiffPosted 6/20/2012 2:21:15 PM | I think you just to download and install a patch first. I doubt you need the online pass. --- "When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up. -C.S. Lewis |
