Wipeout 2048

Hi,
Just wondering...what pilot assist level do you use? I can't seem to complete some of the 2049 challenges unless on max assist...but at the age of 39 my reactions are a bit slow! Anyway, if you want to add me on psn: DiscoGeek then please feel free to do so.

I thought most 'advanced' Wipeout players turn pilot assist off completely?

I was wondering something...does the demo include pilot assist? There doesn't seem to be an option to set PA in the demo (At least, I can't find it). Is the option there, and if it isn't, what level of PA does the demo provide?

And yes, I've been playing the demo whenever I find a PS Vita outside because I don't own ome now if you're wondering.

Thats true for most players.

Me? I find it useful for phantom class and generally a very good helping hand. (on normal pilot assist level )

So what is recommended here?

When first starting off with the game, play with it on?
and then as it gets better turn it off completely?

or start with it as off from the jump and learn to play never using it ?

Being and oldschool gamer, we had no cheats aside from the fabled Konami up-up-down-down code. Every death in a game meant having to retrace 15 minutes of progress.

You want to build character, grow your gonads bigger and make the mightiest of men of yourself, then do as the old guard does and turn that pilot assist off and don't look back. You have my assurances that you will enter the ranks of legends if you persist without it.

Had it on myself for quite some time, actually. Was new to racing games, so it did help me getting to know the course. Soon, though, you'll start to become irritated by the forced auto-steering when you want to cut inner apexes, or other situations in which you would have been completely OK with a simple side-shift. I turned off pilot assist at that point and haven't really missed it. But in all honesty, I don't think I would have been able to keep up the motivation in the beginning without it.
