I'm getting awful framerates on this, even on low

and, my mouse goes mental because of it, i will try and drag it across the screen to shoot someone running side on and it just flicks way past, like it has ridiculous mouse acceleration.

Why don't developers put in god damn RAW mouse input?

Also, my specs are Hex Core, Nvidia 460 1GB, 8 GB ram. So why the hell can I barely run the game even on low :S

That's a new one to me. I would think you'd be running this rather well. I would say maybe the mouse issue is the cause or is just another issue. Have you checked video drivers and all that yet?

Hmm, I've only got a crappy little laptop at the moment [played the demo @ 800x600 resolution, other settings on high] and been getting slightly laggy mouse control. However when I plug in my xbox controller [for pc] it performs well.

Have to enjoy a bit of recoil while sniping. If you don't have one, [xbox controller for pc] might be an idea to give it a try.

... Also check the key map under control settings, there are options to reduce mouse acceleration, smoothing. There is also an option in advanced video settings for mouse lag/acceleration.

I've got similar specs to you and I can run it on high with smooth framerate. Maybe check your drivers or rollback.

Your GPU should be handling it fine (my GTX 580 never saw about 50% usage) so that leads me to think that maybe your CPU isn't up to snuff. CPU core count above four makes very little difference at the moment as most games are only using three (with games like Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2 really taking advantage of additional cores) and faster cores are better than simply having more. What make and model is your CPU? What's the clock speed?

I don't get why you are having problems? At low you should be flying through this game with a 460. That's a darn good card. I am brute forcing this game with a 680 but I think I'm a bit overkill with that. There is NO reason a 460 shouldn't be able to run this game better than that. You have more ram than I do too and my fps is 75+. Even at low it should be able to shrug this game off without a problem. What are your temps like on the card? It really doesn't seem normal.
