Seems pretty popular and stuff.

To who? People in the FGC? Sure. Other than that no one gives a **** about it. Itll be flavor of the month then forgotten. Or end up like Twisted Metal where only the hard core players care about it, and that small amount of people will be the only ones playing it after the TandA hype calms down.

Admittedly, it isn't just the people of the FGC. I've had no previous background with fighters (apart from Smash Bros and... well... I hardly think that qualifies), but the initial draw was simply the fact that it was the top listed game here for awhile. That draw made me do some research and, sure enough, I ended up buying the game.

Granted, you may be on to something with the whole "flavor of the month" thing, but being the flavor of the month drew enough attention to make me buy a game belonging to a genre I have no experience with and, more so, actually enjoy it enough to play it long after it loses its social flavor.

Maybe I'm an odd duck, but from some of the other comments floating around, I'd say I'm not the only fledgling fighter.

SFxT was flavor of the month. Skullgirls is here to stay. Mike Z and the staff are geniuses with plenty of fighting game experience dating way back. They listen to the community, but don't bend over backwards just because of a few complaints. This game is already getting nationwide support at majors and the weekly streams.

Its currently the #1 selling game on XBOX LIVE so thats definitely a good thing and im sure that could possible be the case for PSN. I just want this game to be successful so well eventually get new modes like spectator and new characters.

I highly doubt this game will be flavor of the month. Especially if DLC is continuously pumped into it as planned. Honestly, I feel like this game will last longer than SFxT when all is said and done. I say that as a long-time Capcom fan, mind you...a fan that is beyond sick of their DLC shenanigans, but still a fan nontheless.

But again, this is assuming that the DLC/patches for this get done properly and consistently.

When's the next "Flavor of the Month"? A re-release of Guitly Gear then we wait until September for Tekken Tag Tournament 2?

I think that "flavor season" ends with Skullgirls and now its time for the community to pick out which ones have true staying power.
I tend to go by "Redblaze" or "Redblaze27" online.

It seems to be selling well, it doesn't have to be the "flavor of the month" to be selling well.
There is no way out of here... it'll be dark soon... there is no way out of here.

It seems to be doing very well for an XBL/PSN Arcade game.
