Ok....

1) after i did all the Captain Kidd missions and got the shard of eden, every time my game is finished loading i keep getting a message saying "Citizen Mission: Item Acquired", why?

2) I know the Shard of Eden deflects bullets. Can i use it? If so, how?

You get delivery requests which have you collect items. If you have some of them it will tell you as that update.

You deflect bullets automatically but it's not all the time. I think there is like a 10 sec recharge.

1. I dunno. I have the same.

2. It does it automatically, but only for a percentage of the shots. Not sure what the percentage chance is.

It's just one of the seemingly countless stupid little bugs in AC3. Pretty goddamn annoying.

Also, you can turn off updates and other HUD items in the options.

That's kinda like solving the issue of your car's oil light coming on by putting a piece of duct tape over it.

Yes, but an update window is not going to destroy your game and/or system.
