Connor knew that Charles Lee had the key. There was no point at all going through those first 3 than to be a "gotcha" moment. Was there really any point at all living as his dad?
The most enoyable part of the game and a fun twist being the "point".
I'm talking about making sense in game. It makes none. We lived through Altair and Ezio and Conner for a good reason as they either had the location of an apple or some key needed. Connor's dad had no story relevance at all living through his memories.

Even more suspect was the fact that for 3 hours they never say 'Templar' and 'Assassins' openly, after 4 games that showed that dualism down our throat. Plus there was something very obviously wrong about Haytham and his crew, they looked nothing like the Assassin's we played so far.
Pretty much this (also that Haytham talked about the "order" rather than the "brotherhood"). The game wasn't exactly subtle in the hints that it dropped that Haytham wasn't what he seemed.
