Ubisoft should heavily consider dumping synchronization objectives.

They have gotten more ridiculous since Brotherhood. AC2 is the best for me, guess why? No damn bonus objectives!

For example in AC3 most objectives especially on the latter half of the game don't even feel relative to the story. Most are a chore to do, something that video games should never be. For example in sequence 7, you have to air assassinate grenadier, while remaining undetected on the ships. you have to clear the entire boat to be able to do that.

Does it feel like Connor would have done, or in any other way relevant to the Revolution? The answer is no.
"Oh gee, i'm gonna waste countless of minutes to kill every guard on this ship to do a cool kill no one will see. My men are getting bombarded while I do that but hey, who needs 'em."

Nothing wrong in bonus objectives in general, all the better if there's some extra to do. However, not like they are executed in AC3 it just fails on so many levels.

Now that I have lightened my heart on this post, feel free to comment.

Yup, it sure does suck the game forces people to get these ridiculous optional objectives. They should release a patch to slap people who complain about this stuff.

They are. Didn't you see them say they're making chases easier?

Buying and playing the game is optional, that's a dumb argument. The fact is completion percent and trophies are tied to the "optional" objectives. They're only optional in the scope of completing the mission, outside of that they're game content standing in the way of rewards. OP's main point, that everything in the game should be fun, is true no matter what we're talking about, whether we like or dislike it, whether it's easy or hard.

I had fun. But, then, I recognize the fact that work has to go into being a Completionist and enjoy that work. Otherwise, don't expect to get every trophy like you're having it handed to you just for paying 60 dollars.

But it slapped me. :\ I mean, I put all this work into the game, get Completionist/Platinum, and then they go and make it easier.

It smarts.

How is the argument dumb? Some people enjoy a challenge, some people don't. Some people think they do, but get frustrated when they can't get past it or think it shouldn't have been implimented the way it was. I enjoyed platinuming Mirror's Edge even though most people wouldn't consider the insane plat requirements to even remotely resemble fun. Fun is relative.

As far as being tied to trophies/rewards, well that's the dumb argument. Ever since AC2 there have been tedious, annoying, frustrating, and downright stupid trophies in all the games. Feathers in AC2 since there's no map. Employee of the month, download complete, and the getting 15 bonuses in a single mp session trophies from ACB. Den defense trophies in ACR. None of which had very good, if any, rewards in game.

So if a person buys AC3 without expecting at least one or two BS requirements for trophies that's your own fault.
