I restarted ACII last night, an did one of the glyph puzzles where you use infrared to find apples hidden in famous scenes with famous figures. One of them shows George Washington in 1782 or so with an apple! He never had one that we are aware of in ACIII.

Just a small continuity error?

Nope. Remember that Connor cut ties with Washington about that time, and made it quite clear that the only reason he wasn't killing Washington at that moment was because he knew the Colonials needed a leader and didn't want Charles Lee to take over that role.

So, it's possible that Washington does have an apple?

Yes. He just never gets a chance to show it to Connor until later (the events of the Tyranny of King Washington DLC storyline).
