honestly my only real issue with Connor...... is that he NEVER smiles

#1demigodxseroPosted 11/27/2012 10:20:31 AM
even in the most heartwarming situations, he just stood there and swung his arms like a machine. i dont remember how he reacted when the baby was born on the homestead but im pretty sure it wasnt nearly as powerful a reaction as it coulda been. no embrace, no laughter, no kind words, no nothin.... dude is all business whether its appropriate or not.

i could buy the excuse that he sealed off his emotions after he watched his mom die, but they never once explored that aspect of his character in the game. it woulda been nice to see him smile and shed a tear when he found achilles dead body, or to see him pick up on the colonists customs while on the homestead and learn to shake hands or salute after missions. why wouldnt they include somethin like this?

I thought he was quite expressive during the wedding and reception. He seemed very proud.

It's a cultural thing.

It's hilarious having ambient conversations in the homestead pub of the people partying and getting drunk while conner stands there and speaks as if he's dead inside. I would've liked to see him enjoy himself for once. It just seemed unrealistic for someone to appear so emotionless.

I don't see why Connor should have to adopt the culture or mannerisms of others. He shows respect for other people and other cultures, and he shows his emotions in other ways.

i actually thought about this but figured Ubi might be worried bout how they portray a native american at a pub. iirc the only time you ever see connor so much as sip any alcohol is at the very end of the game

learnin how to perform simples gestures like a handshake isnt really "adopting" a culture, its just a matter of simple communication. you spend the whole game around the colonists and british, naturally youd pick up on a couple of their customs for when you interact with em.

Those glossy P. Diddy lips are fragile.

Gloss 'em up and make sure they don't crack.

At the end of the game he's like twenty something. Considering he spent most of that lifetime with his own kin, and another good chunk just with Achilles (who self-admits they are not the type for "those kinds of things"), he doesn't /really/ spend that much time around the colonists. Remember that how much game time YOU spend running around New York is not reflective of how much actual time he spent in New York as canon.
