I'd like to see less "cinematic sequences", more true sandbox environments, less linearity and more room for stealth and social stealth. If I can have that then I fully support your setting idea (or any other).

u might be right about repitition and i agree with to much cinimatics but if they did it right it could be fun the catholic church tourting ppl u gotta save them stuff like that...but i like the samari idea too... i know i got bad spelling...

Can't use the Inquisition because that's when the Church was rounding up Templars, deeming them heretics. Popular belief has it also as the origin of Friday the 13th being an unlucky/bad day as that was the day and date the hunt for Templars began.

In reality the Templars had too much power and freedom in the Church's eye, and had to be dealt with thusly.
