Does it only show controls for 360 for everyone?

Items on left of screen can they be used at anytime or are they just their?

It only showed 360 controls for me too, and that's how I played the first time, but came back with keyboard and mouse.

Also, the items show up to use when you hover over something that can use it. Like if you go to talk to Carley in the drug store it'll give you the option to either talk to her, look at her, or give her an item that you have. It's not hard to figure out once you get start playing.

Did you think it played better for the 360 gamepad or with keyboard and mouse? Im on the fence about which version to get. Big TV with surround sound and sitting on a couch, or probably better graphics but with worse sound and a much smaller screen. hmmmm

It shows controller no matter what. Keys are also unrebindable.

It's not bad either way. I play my PC games on my tv anyways so it's no difference to me. I just don't get surround sound because I don't have a card that does Dolby Digital. If you want to try just one chapter go with the xbox. If you want to buy the season pack go through steam. That's only my opinion though.

^ You realize you don't need a sound card with Dolby Digital to get surround sound, right? (Most games don't support it anyway. Just buy three of these and connect them to your surround receiver's "multi-in" ports:
