Nightmare mode anyone?

Nice progress there. I've finally started my nightmare run.. made it up to scene 5. It looks like I was wrong about there being a base difficulty (I must have misread the JP wikis) Enemy stats are all based on rank, so Nightmare isn't much different from Advance early in the game before the rank starts to ramp up. Later when the rank hits 2.00x things will probably get ugly. It's easier than I thought so far. Pretty sure Basic and Advance on a New Game are capped at 1.0 and 1.25, but Basic+ and Advance+ are uncapped if you start them as a New Game+. --- http://www.tbstactics.com - Tactical Insights. new link(this one's a lot better) + updates(17~20): http://imgur.com/a/5WYKy#20 okay i admit being derp. this is one of my retarded moments XD so i usually take in-game pics to give a small idea what happened within the battles that i thought were too quick/easy.. but this last battle with Isabelli.. i took pics, even for the useless scroll i got. but i have no idea why i forgot and didnt take pics of the results! fffffffffuuuuu anyway, i remember the time quite clearly.. it was 8:xx+1 day, and ofc ***-rank. forgive me, i will just take a pic of my rank/multiplier from the next mission.. for scene 18, lol. i knew i was right.. the church did provide a good wall and kept me away from the undines., additionally, there's a perfect spot for a KB-er, and a perfect one-tile-wide spot to create a blockade for my casters behind them. As you can see, Giulio was the one blocking, and elise took care of KB.. thank god for unguardable attacks. you could see my Witch and Paulo on the other side of the church, if you check the results screen.. And as for the victrion castle.. lol i knew burn can be useful somewhere in NM mode, but it was just too handy this time.. i only repositioned a few, healed my witch once, and spammed scramble+nuked nelson all the way.. burn actually killed him, and not my final spell :/ Had paulo equipped with fire-null clothes.. and voila.. the sorceress just focused on Giulio instead xD --- Do not fear death - only the unlived life. Good job so far. I've made it to 6 on nightmare. It's still not much harder than advance yet. 7 will probably be annoying to figure out, although I have some ideas (stay out of enemy archer range, knockbacks, crippling status effects, etc.) that got me through it on advance. --- http://www.tbstactics.com - Tactical Insights. Nightmare Strats: 1: 9:00 Use overclock whenever needed, since you can't do much else with the TP. Hit enemies from behind, unlock Root Blade and start hitting 2 enemies at a time whenever possible. Attack the boss as much as possible. If you get RNG blocked or missed too many times, or your allies act like idiots by picking up bags instead of attacking the enemy, you will fail the ***.. just keep trying. 2: 4:10 If you lure Noah close to your allies, you can take the time to beat on another enemy for extra XP/mastery. Other than that, pretty straightfoward stage. 3: 26:36 Part 1 is much easier if you let Alissa go, as the enemies will tend to ignore your units and run for her. It's still possible if you stop her from leaving, of course. You have plenty of time to farm Giulio lots of I attacks to raise his level/mastery. Don't rush or let your other units hog the attacks. Try to lure enemies into dropping down to the bottom, rather than splitting up or chasing them. Get the tamers to split up if possible. Try to break open the chest right next to the steps leading up to the walkway which contains a Buckler. During part 2, none of your losses or time counts against your score, so take as much time as you can to farm Giulio more XP/mastery. Equip Giulio with potions to spam for free XP. If you play this part well you can kill 2-3 knights before going down. At least one knight has a chance to drop a Bronze Sword, so make sure to at least kill that one before getting wiped out. Fall back across the bridge and to the SW corner - some enemies will stop attacking you, while the gunners will attack at poor ranges that guarantee they'll miss. Part 3 you don't have much to do but mop up some enemies. Use Scramble to run past the enemy knight to Gungnir. You have a chance at a second Bronze Sword from the knight standing in the way of Gungnir (after you've grabbed it). The Flamberge +9 is a pretty useful drop if you can get it, but it's not necessary. 4: 24:16 Pick up the Rope whip in the store, it's one of the only that can Capture enemies, which is a very useful special effect on Nightmare. There are two ways to approach this stage. Either try pulling and killing Pierre asap by hitting him with magic from below the cliff, or try to kill most/all enemies then Pierre. Pull Pierre using Rune Orb and make him jump down the cliff - note that you should ONLY target Pierre, not the other knights. This will pull only Pierre while the knights sit around picking their nose. As long as you don't kill more than 2 of the 3 initial incoming enemies (the two assassins and trickster), the knights will stay put while you easily kill Pierre. Tank the assassins/trickster with Ragnus w/ Buckler equipped while beating Pierre down. This is a relatively safe and easy way to complete the stage. To win the stage the long way, you'll need a Bronze Sword from the previous stage. Start by capturing all the nearby flags. Use knockbacks on the incoming enemies and try to get off a safe Ragnarok if possible to weaken the knights. As you kill more enemies, the knights and Pierre will become increasingly fast. By the time Pierre jumps down the cliff, you'll want to have two knights ringed out/killed and the third knight Captured. Pierre will be so fast that he'll take 1 turn for every 1 turn of yours, so surround him and kill him as fast as possible before he wreaks havok. This ends up being harder than the fast method because there are far more chances to screw up. You do get more gold/xp/mastery in the end, though. --- http://www.tbstactics.com - Tactical Insights. lol i think you meant scramble, for Scene 1, not overclock. just to avoid confusion. and for scene 4.. i feel derp for hitting the other knights as well back then XD which i was avoiding to do in the past few stages... also, if you can "lock" Pierre into his spot as he falls down (you will have time to do this, cause he would be in dizzy/stunned status - and you only need 2 or 3 people to do that, depending on where he chooses to drop), it would be easier to cast magic on or attack him from the front/afar(Elise/Archer/Thrower) for easy beatings. It would be good if you deliberately expose your tank's back at least once to the enemy Assassins/Knights so that they will be provoked to surround him, thus saving your other units from being heavily damaged. --- Do not fear death - only the unlived life.
