Another nifty little thing you could do with Dark Heavens. I had out a couple of weak creatures, a Fallen Angel, and made sure my opponent didn't have any creatures with flying or reach left. I attacked with Fallen Angel, sacrificed all creatures, then after the attack I had Fallen Angel sacrifice itself, then cast Living Death. Voila, all my creatures intact again =)

It goes without saying that you better check your opponent's graveyard before casting Living Death ;)

Playing Ancient Depths.

Cranked out a fair bit of mana early and cast Polymorph on my lone Coiling Oracle. Landed "Kozilek, Butcher of Truth" in exchange. Figured the game was set.

Opponent plays Pacifism.

Next turn I respond with Aether Mutation on Kozilek and proceeded to pummel him with my swarm of 1/1 tokens.

It isn't a smart move on my part, but rather an idiotic move an opponent made....I was playing Grave Whispers against Ancient Depths. I had been trading creatures back and forth until I only had a Massacre Worm left. When it was my opponents turn they played Aether Mutation on my Massacre Worm and attacked unblocked, but the silly fool left me with 4 health left. Needless to say when I re-played my Massacre Worm which did 12 damage by killing all of his tokens and finishing him off he might have realized he made a mistake.

Relax, it's just a game.

^ That's hilarious.

I had a pretty good one the other night. I was playing Forest's Fury against mono-W Equip. We were keeping each other at a good pace. Eventually we went through nearly all of each others creatures, leaving a Pacified Dauntless Daurbark, a couple Battlewand Elders (i think thats their name), and garbage against his fatties and a pair of Gideon's Lawkeepers. At least I think it was Pacifism. It was some white lockdown enchantment; it was a week ago. Every turn was the same, he'd tap down my two biggest and only attackers, while I would take small flying damage. Then I drew Woodfall Primus. During mainphase one I clicked Y to end my phase hoping he'd take the bait. He did. He used his Lawkeepers to tap down my midsized creatures at which point I stopped the clock and casted Woodfall Primus at the tail end of my main phase. Primus hit the board, I named Pacifism. Bashed in with Daurbark for lethal.

While not exactly a clever card play; it was kind of clever game manipulation. I passed priority to him to trick him into tapping the wrong creatures, before putting my fatty back online.

Here's an example of 'saving the right card(s) for the right moment' ;)

He's at 11. You got 8 damage in hand.

It's nice, but not enough...

Oh! You unearth your graveyard dude after playing your horsie. That's extra damage enough for the win on your attack. Good job.

THis was not really a smart move but it was a fun game changer nonetheless. I was playing DH against beknighted, He had 2 exemplars and a knight of the meadowgrain out and my only creature was a 6/6 Ob Nixilis. He was still at 20 while I was already at 13 or something, Then I drew a terramorphic expencem, dealing 6 damage to his face and makinh ob a 12/12. I threw angellic destiny on him and smashed in for victory. With his entire side being indestructible he fully expected to steamroll right over me and thats what made it so satisfying.

Had two good ones today:

First was with Blood Hunger. The opponent had tapped out with 2 creatures on the field and 12 life. I had 2 Vampire Outcasts (the 4/4 lifelink guys) and Captivating Vampire (the lord) in play. I also had Blade of the Bloodchief on one of the Vampire Outcasts - but they all still had their normal statistics, aside from Captivating's +1/+1 boost.

I had 4 lands out, and in my hand was: land (unplayed this turn), barter in blood, child of night, gatekeeper of malakir.

QUESTION: how did I win this game?

ANSWER: I played Barter in Blood, which kills 4 guys in total - leaving my Vampire Outcast with Blade of the Bloodchief on it alive and making it grow to be a 12/12. Hey, what a coincidence, that's my opponents life total. Whoops, now it's 0. GG.

Second game was with Wielding Steel. I had a lawkeeper as well as Stoneforge Mystic out; equipped with Sword of War and Peace -- you know, the douchbag card ;).
Anyway, the opponent was playing Ghoulkeeper. He'd been able to stave me off at 6 life for quite a while, but I was whittling down his forces since he had to chumpblock me. He had two guys left when he tapped out to play Call to the Grave. Knowing I'd only have one turn, on my upkeep I paused the timer and used my lawkeeper's ability to tap one of his guys before sacrificing him. I then drew my card - arrest - which I promptly played on his last remaining blocker. This allowed my Sword of War and Peace-equipped Mystic to finish him off.
