it's so fun cuz it's the only fast FPS in a decade, but seriously, the game's got issues that hi-rez is ignoring. and the ctf is just braindead stupid

Take a look at the official forums. I joined them in mid-August and it's been non-stop complaining on the feedback board ever since, and for a long time before.

Oh damn cut 2 years from that *face palm*.

I think the game is beyond flawed. I think the game kills a lot of principles by its matchmaking and F2p mentality. Purely paid serverse owned by the company only, no modding community, ridiculous progression system that costs a fortune to go around, inability to choose what you play in any way whatsoever (god I hate half of the maps in this game if not more and always forced into them).

COUNTLESS gameplay issues that, again because of no modding only -they- can fix, a lot of principles from even the older Tribes were completely ignored to dire results, and they have been fixing almost nothing and only adding some meaningless weapons every now and then.

That review is crap, simple reason. It says 5$ for a weapon is reasonable. I LOL'D. Thats ridiculous. An in-game weapon like that in any game is not worth more than a single ****** buck.

People need to wake up with the pricing in F2P games, for god's sakes thats pathetic. I wanted to love this game for what it is, but its easily the biggest joke ever to hit the FPS world. Its so shameful. Anyone from early Tribes, anyone from early FPS would tell you that if they had any sense in their stupid head. This is an insult to the genre.

...that's probably because half the maps in this game are exactly the same anyways

I meant $5 being reasonable as compared to grinding for 36 hours

I agree that this game has a ton of issues, and if released in the era of fast FPS, this game would've been a joke. but my point is, what else are you gonna play now if you want to play a new fast FPS?

I personally didn't stop playing quake 2 until like 2 years ago. this genre isn't exactly booming at the moment. there is no Q3A or UT2k4 to choose over T:A. its closest competitors are TF2 and painkiller...and both of those are pretty old by now anyways, and not exactly without their own issues

No the genre is not doing well. It will turn around. Not sure how good the new games will be, but I'm sure there will be a turn to more fast paced futuristic shooters in the near future.

Ah, sorry then. Yes, it is, I payed a lot of money to this game just to avoid grinding (I mean, 36 hours = 360$ at a minimum salary. Time is money, I'd rather work an hour instead of grinding 36 hours - in a game I knew I'd never play enough hours to get more than 5% of the game anyway).

Its a rip off still but I'm guilty of spending 150$ on this game -> and oh dear do I regret it. (but not nearly as much as I would have spending 1000 hours on it grinding).

The reason this game bothers me so much, is because its exactly where the revival of the genre should have been. It had all the biggest opportunities to be the rebirth of that genre... but it barely used any of it.

Its such an extreme disappointment.

There has been few attempts since a long time and most were bad. Even UT3 is, IMO, not a very good game. And what was that game.. Nexuiz, or something? How horrifying.

There is nothing that makes me more annoyed than amazing potential thrown to waste. T:A is exactly that.
