Player progression?

Does player progression work in Madden 12? If a few of my players had a really good season and one even got the MVP, would they significantly increase in rating? I plan on buying this tomorrow so I was just wondering.

Yes, But its not really based on stats as much as it is on age and potential.

Well that's crappy. I'd expect my QB that rushed for over 1,000 and passed for over 4,000 to get a boost in rating.

I had Nate Burleson with 98 catches for 1,592 yards and 13 TD's and his overall rating dropped 10 points.

Yes... as previously mentioned... stats mean nothing to player development...

Similar, Derrick Johnson dropped 8 points after a ~110 tackle, 7 sack, and multiple turnover season. He went to the pro bowl and finished 5th for Best Defensive Player. So, I guess I don't know how the system works.

Still waiting for someone to make a multiplayer shooter as good as BF:1942

I turn on the Edit Ratings setting so I can go through the rosters at the end of each season and boost/decrease players based on performance because that's too much for Madden to handle.

It's based on age and potential. Not stats. If you have a 2nd string CB play and do better than a third string CB, but the third stringer has higher potential, he will gain more points than the second string CB that played better. Stupid system. Back to the drawing board EA.

How do you edit players stats? Can you do it when the season is over or after the preseason?
