Aceofblades2k2Posted 4/4/2011 8:01:40 PM | BRING BACK NIKOLAI!!!! Dude is seriously my fave villain aside from Wesker and imo the most like him. There has never been a villain like Wesker in the RE series (outside of maybe Birkin) but Nikolai was just the dude you love to hate. Plus, there is one ending in RE3 (possibly even the canon one) that has Nikolai surviving.
Also, Hunk is ****ing badass, he definetely survived.
WTF is capcom doing with all these cool characters while jagoffs like Napoleon lookalike from RE4 and the arms dealer from RE5 (too lazy to look up their names, you know who I mean) are running free??!?

Because replacing Ramon Salazar with HUNK/Nicholai would have made total sense for the plot of RE4?
and the new characters aren't running free. *RE4 & 5 spoilers*
they are both dead.
and HUNK is going to be in Revelations and he was in RE4 Mercenaries as well as the new one.

Aceofblades2k2 (Topic Creator) Posted 4/5/2011 7:16:58 PM | Yes I was describing Irving & Salazar, two of the biggest ****** bags in the history of Capcom's lineage of ****** bag characters.
They are virtually interchangeable, just power hungry dicks who decide to try to gain more power through making connections with powerful people.
Nikolai & Wesker were believable, militaristic dictator types, whereas Irving and Salazar did nothing but allow the series to lose credibility. Also, yes they are both dead. I meant more who is running free at Capcom creating characters like Salazar and Irving and implanting them into Resident Evil, a story that USED to be believable, interesting and at least somewhat serious.
With all the Wesker super punchouts and ginger bread men this is not even Resident Evil anymore.
I hope that ORC can bring back what made the series great, for one the mysterious, almost detective like information pacing.

Aceofblades2k2 (Topic Creator) Posted 4/5/2011 7:28:32 PM | And obviously Scythe I was observing that with the "reboot" that was RE4, the story took a turn for the worst. Salazar, Irving, Saddler... these were all characters who detracted from their games.
Engaging in more action is fine, but throwing asunder everything that makes RE's story great was simply stupid.

TheDawnRiderPosted 4/5/2011 11:26:10 PM (edited) | The only character I liked from RE4 in terms of character design (besides Leon) was Bitores Mendez. Huge creepy lookin' dude with a beard, and he didn't talk much. Believable as the village chief. Salazar got annoying real quick, and was quite a pathetic villain. Didn't care much about Saddler. Krauser...Overrated. The knife fight was cool...But that was about it. From RE5 I really hated Irving, Excella and even Sheva...Really stupid characters that I feel should of been left out of the series. |
