Now I can finally fix my sleeping hours. Been pulling all nighters like crunch time at work for this game. I'll probably go slow with the War.

Well, there are loads of side quests and other stuff you can do offline, and you'll always need to grind there to make more characters. The way the online is, you can never have enough characters online - you can store 32 characters in war mode, and swapping them around and experimenting with lots of characters seems much better than just sticking with a few.

I also realized that training 2 characters rather than 4 only consumes 3 days, not 4. This means if you are willing to burn more training items you can make even stronger characters if you only train them 2 at a time. So I've made two characters I'm never going to send online, who'll stay offline to mentor two newbies at a time. Also, as the Crystal enemies are fixed levels, you actually need at least level 50-60 characters offline at some point if you want all those tasty items.

Also, when online, throwing a ringer into your party is a great way to get an easier ride. You are always matched with a team with an average total level that is close to that of your own team. But if you have 3 level 40 and 1 level 15 character, you are more likely to meet a team in which everyone is at at equal level lower than 40 than another team of 3 40s and a 15. So you have one weaker characters, but three characters who are potentially far stronger than anything the other team has. I've had quite a bit of success doing this, and seeing as a lot of people are still just using fixed teams in which everyone is the same level I can see this working for a while yet.

The potential combinations are just insane. If you make strong characters than you can take part and be effective in any War at any point in the future; they only last for 30 hours, so there's always next time. I don't think you can hurry this title - you could devoute months to it, literally, I've said it before and I'll say it again - hats off to the team for coming up with a system this compelling and (unless something really game breaking shows up in the future) so nicely balanced.

@chebuoi

Thanks! All girls parties are best parties, bro.

@Sonrasu

Hell yes I'm not totally done with offline too haha. I'm still aiming for the +15% ailment Bunny Hood off the crystals. I'm currently training a new Rapiers and Staffs party, going to go higher than 50 for the crystals. This is my first serious party, in a way that I went through an hour of rerolling starting stats for 29 Strength for both Knights, and 28 and above Magic for both WIzards. I did the 4 persons training though, I didn't know about having 2 at once costs less days... Thanks for the information!

The training started at LVL3, got to LVL6 in Strength/Agility/Technique for Knights, and Magic/Bless/Agility/Technique for Wizards. Current stats at LVL12;

Knights-
HP..............328...320
Strength......50.....49
Vitality.........37.....39
Technique...48.....47
Magic..........28.....24
Bless...........28.....29
Agility..........39.....38
Luck............27.....25

Wizards-
HP..............316...319
Strength......24.....22
Vitality.........32.....36
Technique...40.....41
Magic..........47.....49
Bless...........35.....39
Agility..........46.....44
Luck............30.....29

The core stats are almost double of what they should have been. I used all 3 chances to retry to get better training results too.

Other than that, I'm revisiting maps and dungeons for static red treasure chests. Now I'm only 5 formations short of completion. I found the ones I really want too.

Dark Fest boosts the output of my Wizards' spells by roughly 25%.

Plus Order increases AP regeneration of turns by 1, making it 7 instead of 6.

Still looking for Seven Fever for my Hammer team.

Closed Land and Death March seems to be able to be used for some radical builds.

Like you, this is literally the most compelling game to me in the whole PSP system. Not even 600 hours in MHP3 since last November can be compared to the fun I'm having with this.The foreign IP might still be blocked, but this is still one of the most worthy purchases I've made in a long, long while.

I'm sure the block is not intended to keep baka gaijins out of glorious motherland. They have to be biased towards their own nationality, since it brings in business. They know that most of the online players from outside of Japan never bought the game. It's fair for us to just bear with it through proxy and hot, intense lag for now.

Also, when online, throwing a ringer into your party is a great way to get an easier ride.

I'm so going to try that. I've been wondering about that for a while too. I checked some teams that were abnormally tough to beat, their party consists of 3 higher LVLs and a single LVL 20, sometimes 10+. Thanks for the information there!

I'm so glad I never got around to delete my starter premades. They're better used than warming the bench forever.

What about training only 1 character and only 3 characters, how many days would it took? I'm curious.

@kennytts

You can also try playing around with 2 persons and 3 persons formation, I wonder if they can match up with 4 persons squads

Couple things... how long is the single player?

Also, how do you switch a character between online and offline? How do you put him online and then how do you bring him back to your game?

Thanks!

I got your name wrong above ><

Oh yes, definitely. It's worth knowing that 3-P parties have some of the biggest boosts from their formations. Honestly, I've met a single person party of a Female Crossbow Archer too. I abused her to LVL my Wizards' masteries. She uses items for about 9 times, so, I have a Wizard healing the party, and another hitting her with low damage spell. For my party would be Drain Act. Juggle in between the Wizards a few times and I managed to get 2-3 points of masteries in multiple elements in a fight.

That aside, I'm thinking up a couple of 3-P builds right now, will report back here when there's a working one! You guys ought to try out too!

Sonsaru

I got your name wrong too ;_;

I've just got to mention about the musics, sounds and effects. It is quite obvious that the budget they've allocated to the sounds, voices and musics are almost as high as the visuals themselves. Together with the gameplay, they've somehow reached the golden ratio of Sounds, Graphics and Gameplay.

During the first phase of the Sundered King fight, I was reluctant to end the fight because of the damned soundtrack!

The Game OST is bound for shipment in the first of October! No pre-order bonuses this time, so, it's safe to just wait for it to hit stores, then import.

Apparently, they're going to be partially instrumental, unlike the fully digital ones for the game!

It took me roughly 30 hours in term of offline playtime. I juggle in between online and offline a lot.

Sending the characters online is permanent! Don't send them unless you're absolutely sure of what you're doing. You can start sending them online after 60 days in-game time, there will be a second option in the fifth option in town. After sending a party, you can make a new one from the fourth option in town.

@Sonsaru & chebuol

It's worth mentioning that the days to train increase with training LVLs. It took me 6 days to train a party starting at LVL4. My guess is the increment is by one day per 2 LVLs. My next party will have a starting training LVL of 4, if the LVL increases at the same rate on single member training as 4 persons training, it will be LVL 5 by the time I train the second member of Team 5. Costs and permits in consideration, it will be a luxury worth spending on!

Ugh the final boss is very tough, , AoE deal like 600-700 dmg, single traget spell deal like 900-ish damage, and worst of all it can move 2 times, or even 3 times if it got enough AP, killing both of my wizard, no wizard = no revive = game over :(

Any tips to beat it?

I think my biggest problem is my party were still the very 1st party without proper training, their stat are kinda low :/
