Did this game have a low budget?

I just started and the lip syncing is the worst, blurry textures and some other things as well. I know the game gets better but this is odd coming from a core Capcom studio.

Well, the fact that it is a new IP leads be to believe that they weren't exactly pulling out all the stops, but even then, the syncing didn't seem all that bad to me. In fact, I didn't really notice any problems or issues whatsoever.

The budget wasn't low, in fact Dragon's Dogma is Capcom's most expensive game to date.

More expensive than RE5? You must be joking.

Wouldn't the lip syncing be suited for Japanese, not English?

That's not the point. The majority will play it in English. Sometimes it is fine but a many points... ugh.

It's Capcom... I'm sure the majority will play it in Japanese, I even remember hearing some news about how badly it sold in the west.
I can't fault Capcom, a Japanese company, for making a game synced to Japanese words.

Edit: Black Bars I hear are from the constraints of the Xbox, not the budget. Dynamic light sources really take a toll on consoles, which is the reason for the bland pallete in games now days. I may be misinformed, but I think this is right.

Doubtful it is the 360's fault. Even the PS3 has. Also, it sold only about 100,000 copies Japan.
