wow once again i got screwed over in the grace period cause the ur-drgaon wasn't taking any damage from me. now i have to wait for the 3rd time

He does take damage, just its the same amount you do in a normal fight,so if you cant do enough to see his health bar move then you wont be able to finish him off in most of the grace period.

Unless your timing is dead right,he goes into the old style grace period but its taking longer and longer to kick in,ive been testing the last few gens to see when it starts, gen 46 it was the last 2 minutes of grace, this gen it was the last 90 seconds.

So when get 48 dies,if your still unable to hurt the dragon enough, make sure you in NG+ so you can use the beach entrance to the dragon, rest at the inn,and if the dragon has any health left, restart at checkpoint and reenter, and keep doing till his health is gone, with any luck you will get the kill, unless the old style grace period is totally gone by then.

Yeah just keep at it, you might be able to squeese in 3 runs on him in grace but don't get disheartened, you'll kick his ass soon enough. :)

What's your set up btw? Vocation, equipment, aug's etc

-Health bar lies, do not trust it all the time. There currently no confirmation on his sporadic HP bars rising and dropping. However, it is confirmed that he DOES NOT HEAL.
-Do not fret about his HP bar not moving or being higher than when you last went in. Just keep hitting it.

.

I think that you will find that there is about 10 ur-dragons, and each time you hit again, you are facing a different one...that is why the health bar fluctuates. The first one is usually the most dinged up, because lots of people like to attack it once, then praise themselves about scoring a bag of gold and a wakestone shard, while everyone else does the work...Also, I am pretty sure that the least damaged ur-dragon, is sent to the highest damage causes. eg On this Gen 47, There was one that had a lower back leg virtually undamaged, and one dot and 1/2 bar health left, which disappeared for about 2 hours, while the other ur-dragons were brought down to its damage level...

Best of the worst explanations ever.
