Do pawns fight better if they have lanterns?

I know that it's a decent idea to give them lanterns just because it increases the overall light, but I was curious as to whether it actually increases the pawns night vision. Will they be able to see farther or fight more efficiently if they have a lantern?

New to the game. Love it. Will probably have a ton of questions in the future.

Not that I have noticed.

Death WILL home right in on pawns with lanterns and ignore them if they don't have one, and the arisen does, unless they attack.

Mine has fought quite happily in the dark before when I forgot to give her one :)

Blonde has it correct. In regards to facing Death, then the lantern does effect how they fight. Mostly because Death will see them and more than likely kill them.

Cool. Thanks. I usually give one to my main pawn. I just wondered if it was worth giving them to the other two. I'm afraid I'm a little lazy when it comes to constantly giving/remembering to take back their stuff, or keeping them supplied with oil etc.

The pawns don't use oil when they have lanterns. Only the Arisen's lantern uses oil.

Oh! That's great! I did notice that they didn't seem to go through it like I did. I guess I just assumed they were better at turning them off when they didn't need them then I was. ha!

Don't give them oil either, they'll probably toss it at enemies, especially if the enemy is weak to fire and someone has some blast arrows.....

At least in my game, this isn't true. :)

When pawns in my party carry lanterns (and they always do), they do use oil to refill those lanterns. I have had to avoid letting my pawns carry my oil flasks for me, as when I eventually need it to refill my lantern, it is invariably gone. At which point, my lantern goes out and I have to depend on the light from my pawns' lanterns. Good thing I have them carry lanterns. Lol

That would be because they are throwing the oil at enemies. I've seen them do it too many times.
