Pawn Personality Q&A

#1Valor_PhoenixPosted 5/20/2012 1:32:03 PM(edited)
Each = is about 2% of the bar. |=====| is 10% of the bar. =||= is the ‘zero’ value, which for the first question is also the 50% line. Later questions are ‘zeroed out’ to take into account previous questions/answers.

|=====|| is no change
|== is -6%
|=====||=====|== is +14%
Full bars would look like so at question 1:
|=====|=====|=====|=====|=====||_____|_____|_____|_____|_____||
So a total of +25 would max a bar at 100% from starting position of 50%

Answer
S | Scather : + Target strongest foes, might be more aggressive in fighting
+ | Medicant : + Concern about HP and debuffs, heals
M | Mitigator : + Targets weak enemies
C | Challenger : + Targets ranged/mage enemies
U | Utilitarian : + Better teamwork, possibly skill use
G | Guardian : + Guards the Arisen
N | Nexus : + Guards ally pawns
P | Pioneer : Scouts ahead
A | Acquisitor : + Gathers items, even during battle

Decide which qualities you want in your pawn and remember/write down those symbols as “Do want” and any qualities you don’t like under “Do not want”. Then look for an answer that best matches those desires. Positive values in traits are generally good.

Excelent work, Valor. Great job indeed.

So guys, here's an example:

For a Strider pawn (mine)

If you choose the answers...

1. Quick thinking
2. Call for reinforcements
3. Quickly! After them!
4. A majestic white steed

You’d get this set of traits:

My Pawn (Strider)

S |
+ |=====||=====||=
M |=====||=====||===
C |====
U |=====||=====||=====||=
G |=====||=
N |==
P |=====||===
A |=====||====

Based on this set of traits, my pawn would:

1. Use different skills in battle, better teamwork
2. Try to bring weaker enemies first
3. Be mindful about his HP, debuffs.
4. Pick up stuff
5. Scout more often

Which is exactly what I need him doing. On the other hand, he would NOT:

* Attack agressively whatever is near him, strong or not
* Protect other pawns.

=(
I find this confusing, but I bet if I look at it when I have the game, it will be easier to understand. Or I am just too tired to wrap my mind around it. You couldn't simplify it or something? Or I'll have a look at it in the morning. Thanks for the information regardless.

Also, would you make a sticky of all this information you keep pouring out? I think I'd be helpful. :)

Like the instructions say, write down the symbols for the traits you want in your pawn. Then look at the bars on the answer. You want big bars on the traits you want, small bars on the ones you don't want.

You can plan out your answers now and write them down for later. My bars are likely more accurate than squinting at your TV screen later.

Also I couldn't be more accurate than 2%, the bars from the video were 150 pixels wide, so 1% would be 1 or 2 pixels. I rounded everything to 2% to make it simpler and more standard in results.

I dont think this board allow topics to be sticky'ed. At least I saw none so far.

Another bit of important info:

Gameplay Style : How you play the game will affect your pawn's inclination.

Trait to Raise........Action Taken

Scathing................Enter battle with enemies as they appear
Medicant................Heal, remove status effects, use the "Come" order in combat.
Mitigator..................Bring down weak targets first
Challenger.............Focus on long range attackers or enemies with support skills
Utilitarian................Use support skills and enchantments
Guardian.................Use the "Help" and "Come" commands often, avoid using "Go"
Nexus......................Quickly heal your pawns and remove their status ailments
Pioneer....................Use the "Go" command when you are not in combat
Acquisitor................Pick up items

It's a kinda slow process so dont think they'll go up noticeably everytime you perform said actions.

@ tmrw_nt_tdy

Not that I noticed. What trait exactly is off? I might have done something wrong, I calculated it a bit quickly after all.

I guess I'll be choosing the following for my mage main healer pawn.

1: Quick Thinking
2: Request reinforcements
3: Now Strike
4: A Potion of Youth

Focusing on Medicant, Challenger, and Utilitarian traits.

Quick thinker
Rescue comrades
Now, strike
Perfect Spouse

Took me a bit to figure out your system, but I got it down. Thanks, now I can have my guardian pawn set... Course, I was pretty close before this >_>

Gamefaq has a friends system? AND followers? Since when!?
People focus on the negative, and totally ignore the positives. Why?

Challenger will take a plunge down if you go that route. Calculate it again.
