Wtf is with the unfinished equipment sets in this game?

#1gamer65926592Posted 4/29/2012 2:37:38 AM
There are SO many pieces of equipment that could look awesome as hell if they had every piece but 95% of them lack like 3 pieces or more.

Examples:

Leviathan only has helmet, cuirass and spaulders. No boots, no gauntlets, and no pants/tops (for underneath the cuirass) like almost all other sets lack the last two.

Phoenix Kabuto is a bad ass looking helmet and doesn't have anything else that goes with it (same with demonic kabuto)

The following part irked the **** out of me:
VOODOO SET?! Only females get the damn breastplate?!?! Why would they do this?

Succubus: Gauntlets and boots only...? Wow...

Will you guys post some creations you have made in this game using mixtures of equipment that still look cool? I don't have artistic talent to save my life so if they don't have the same name I can't get them to go together. SO yeah. Anything would be awesome.

I agree. The equipment is extremely limited compared to SC4. Now they're making us pay for DLC even for 2P costumes. That's complete BS. It goes back to the rushed development of this game and now PS is milking every ounce of it. Those f*ckers!

We must be looking at different games. Really, SC5's editor is so superior to SC4 I don't know how comparisons like that are ever possible. Yeah, not every single piece returned, but in general it's much more flexible. Just compare character recreations done in SC4 and done here.

Besides, really, the only equipment from SC4 that this game lacks are the old 2p costume parts (and some SC4 DLC outfits). That doesn't seem to be the tc's point at all anyway, considering how SC4 didn't even have layers to allow clothing under the armor sets aside from underwear.

Anyway, if you want to see some great examples of the custom editor from SCV, check out this topic in the 8 way run forums:

Leviathan was incomplete in SCIV too, guys. I love how Leviathan keeps being brought up as a problem exclusive to this game when it's really not. Same goes for Succubus and Phoenix Kabuto. Demonic set was in SCIV, though, so those pieces missing is kind of annoying. Voodoo set... if you have to ask why males can't wear the breastplate, then I have no words for you. Honestly, it's lucky that they can wear the rest in the first place.

I think the problem is that there were more equipment in SC4 than SC5. Stickers and patterns are not the same.

Pretty much this. A lot of sets became more unisex, when they didn't used to be. The only part we "lost" from Leviathan is the gauntlets.

More armor and options is never a bad thing, but you don't need a full matching set to make something look awesome. Since you mentioned the Phoenix Kabuto:

You gotta change colors to make them match.

I know about the color change part. There's just no equipment I can find to match the appearance as far as size and shape, etc.

Also, the equipment being less than satisfactory last time is all the more reason for them to have fixed it in this game.

They didn't have to use the exact same voodoo breastplate design for the males... They could have stuck with the dark brownish color and the claws/spikes and made an awesome cuirass/male breastplate.

But then some people would probably complain about not getting a new design for the female's breastplate.

You should look at it as "at least I can use part of this armor set, that's more than I could in the previous installments!"
