I never imagined it would be completely dead, but i suspected this board would be already dying... -___-
Sad, SO sad, but i feel Konami brought this on itself by making this game only a liiiittle bit better than last year's.
PES '11 was a master piece, and i'm sure it generated a lot of expectations for this installment AND they KNEW THIS. 0_o
Time for them to stop trying to compete with EA every year; they N E E D to give more time to its development process. (2 years or... even more if they feel they need it)
It wouldn't be the first company to decide to do this in order to make greater improvements and give us a sequel truly worthy of buying.
I said this some time ago in a topic and some ppl call me a moron, where are they now?
**Why am i laughing? - I'm sad for lovely this series u_u**
No reply, uh? -_-
Not even to troll or to insult me for questioning the STUPID way Konami has been managing things with this lovely franchise for OH! so many years now.
It may sound absurd coming from a hardcore PES fan, but i'm happy with the decaying state of the franchise now, 'cause this SAD situation puts Konami in a position where they MUST decide :
1.- They start working like mad men to make all the necessary improvements to confront FIFA games, no matter how much time it takes (2, 3 years) to come up with a TRUE sequel and a FIFA killer.
2.- They let this beautiful series die and be forgotten. u_u
I still have confidence in Konami and i KNOW they will choose the first option...
Although I agree that this game is only slightly better than last years I still MUCH prefer it over FIFA. And yes, I have spent a lot of time playing both. I'm not quite sure how you can claim to be an avid pes fan then claim the franchise is in decay though, seems slightly odd to say that. If you think how far the game has come since 2008 the improvements are huge.
Yeah, but who cares about FIFA anyway?!... >_>
I played the last one and it feels like a good old PES game, so all EA did was steal the feeling of playing a Konami game and then they added all their stupid licences and leagues.
The franchise IS decaying, no one can't argue with that; i simply don't like this idea some companies have about sports games where EVERY FREAKING YEAR!!! they "need" to come up with another installment.
EA can afford that, but time & facts have already proved Konami can't.
I just want the next PES to be years ahead of the competition, but it simply won't happen if they don't give it enough time to polish everything.
Not many people care about PES little improvements anymore if their first choice is always FIFA.
Konami N E E D S a legendary soccer game like one the world has NEVER seen before to get back on track.
I feel they did it with PES 11 but that was nothing but a very good start.
PES has always been fix shooting, break passing. Next game fix passing, break shooting. They don't even try to make the best game possible and always have one eye on the next game.
They don't even try to make the best game possible and always have one eye on the next game.
Wrong, dude... That's FIFA; Konami simply tried to copy their "business procedure" and they couldn't even do that efficiently. (Unlike EA)
Not many ppl care about PES anymore, at least not when talking about the kind of monstrous numbers FIFA games can reach; all those casual gamers keep religiously feeding EA with their money EVERY YEAR!!
I'm not even talking about football (or "soccer") games alone, they do the same with many other sports franchises, racing games, FPS... You name it.
Konami is the only company capable of giving us true football fans what we want from a game of the sport, but they simply won't be able to achieve that goal if they keep giving us half baked efforts every year... Like FIFA.
I hear your pain man... -___-
Konami screwed BIG time with this game by rushing things and making it look and feel almost the same as PES 11.
We don't really need a football game every F*** in' year, what we R E A L L Y need is a GREAT PES experience every time they can come up with one.
As you said, it doesn't matter if it takes 2, 3... 4 freaking years!! to polish a new formula that can feels truly different, fresh and improved.
If they can't understand this, the series is going to waste.
I truly hope they don't release a new game next year, and i wil be VERY sceptical if they dare to.
