Any news on backwards compatiblitly? Cube/wii games?

I have tons of wii and cube games and would love to be able to play them on my Wii U when its released.

Considering the Wii is backwards compatible, I'd certainly hope so unless they mess up and continue doing what they've done with the DS line and remove the backwards compatiblity(atleast to GC games). Seriously, after DS Lite, no DS model can play GBA games.

They mentioned Wii games and controllers but that was it so far.

It should be Gamecube compatible the controller has all the Gamecube functions, though perhaps not the triggers.

They stated BC for Wii,don't expect gamecube BC,though.
