Hmm... Slot under the disc drive is too big for just an SD slot...

Assuming they aren't using any strange sized disc (it's Wii BC) that opening is much bigger.

They probably took all that stuff out to save costs on controller ports and memory card slots even though the processor is probably fully capable of playing GameCube games if it can play Wii games.
