Analog slide pads and no analog sticks?

its tough to see in the face-forward photos, but it looks like the wii u controller has the slide pads of the 3ds on them.

the wii classic controllers sticks were fine. why did nintendo change this?

yes, if you looked at the picture they showed at the conference, it did label the two pads as the same name as the 3DS "circle pads".

It might be to cut cost, but it seems like you can still use Wii controllers anyway

watching IGN's playthrough, the circle pads are analog sticks, they are just pushed into the controller more for a sleeker design. There's empty space between the stick part and the casing of the controller,

I like the pad thing on the 3DS it feels good when I try it out. So as long as what is used on the Wii U is feels good and works well I have no problem with it.
