Try to see the bigger picture here. Surfing the web on your wii u using the controller as a digital keyboard. watching a movie while surfing the web with your controller. in game inventory management without having to go to a menu. Information displayed for games like stats, maps, mission/quest objectives or for sports games like football showing plays on your controller. surfing the web while playing a game to look up something if you get stuck possibly. It looks like its going to be more then a gimmick.

Playing a game like ninja guiden,on the tv screen you cut open an enemy but on the controller screen you are severing their arteries.

In ghost recon you could go into a surgical mode (like "trauma center") on the controller screen and remove bullets and shrapnel from casualties, yourself or teammates.

Semi useful, but I'd rather have a USB keyboard than a controller that doesn't seem designed for games.

watching a movie while surfing the web with your controller.

Are you watching a movie or surfing the web? Seriously. Pick one.

I don't see much difference between hitting a menu button and looking down at a controller.
If anything, it's distracting.

It looks like its going to be more then a gimmick.

Not really. Not yet, at least.
