there ar 50 million ps3 and 50 million 360s its nintendo that has to fight while sony and ms have to do nothing this is nintendo current predicament
people, it's not who thinks of the technology first or uses it in a single instance or with a couple games. it's who successfully incorporates it on a large scale. years later no one is gonna remember who nintendo ripped off with the waggle controller. for all intents and purposes the wii is the first successful motion controlled console. and no one is gonna remember that sony did.. whatever the hell this wii u is about to do. i was talking about how nintendo will consistently use this feature in all it's next gen games, giving them a clean, HUD-less, clutter-less look. and unless sony/ms make their games run with Vita or another secondary screen- nintendo will be thought of as the biggest and best innovator in the industry once again. --- Conduit 2:: Bonepill 1248.9238.0100 Is this game the bong? no one is complaining about HUDs. but like it or not, having a touch screen infront of you will change how games look and are played. dont believe me? why did the DS destroy PSP? (what's the vita have? oh a touch screen..) and i think you are wrong about this next gen. wii motion control was TOO much of an innovation. people/developers werent ready for it. pair that with weak graphics and you have a failing system right? yet the wii creamed the competition in sales. this new innovation will be much quicker embraced by developers and gamers alike. and it has the power/graphics to stand shoulder to shoulder. sony/ms next gen better do a lot more than better graphics cause at this point, it really doesnt matter any more. hey we have a long way to go. but i fully expect some sort of displays on sony/ms next console's controllers. that's all i'm sayin. --- Conduit 2:: Bonepill 1248.9238.0100 Is this game the bong? To respond to the actual thread, I hope this means the whole regenerating health trend will die down. With a second screen, there's no excuse to simply not display a health indicator, and instead just make health completely inconsequential. It's not fun playing games where you can't die. --- If you think my name is silly, you should call me either Rob or LaughingThesaurus. No need for being strictly formal on a message board, right?

You mean how Nintendo TRIED to do some improvements to the technology of motion and totally failed 2 years later after the Wii came off? I agree, yes, the Wii U looks like an interesting development. BUT I wonder how will Nintendo try and sell it to the gamers. From your comments, I can tell that you're totally bought out by Nintendo so you may remember all the hype that came when the Wii launched. Everyone was excited (myself included) about this new technology and what not. But do you remember how the Wii began to rot after two years? Yes, Nintendo were the ones who "successfully" incorporate the motion controllers on the consoles. And what exactly did they do about it? Nothing. Horrible and boring games and all that nonsense waggle in EVERY game they launched. They totally screwed up the potential and are dying now...or at least until the Wii U comes up. But what's the point if they're going to ruin it again with the lack of "consistency" you brag about. I'd say, if Nintendo has any flaw, that is precisely how "consistently" they exploit their features. --- ACCF FC: 1420-1966-6308 Ivan @ Albireo. Please stay on paths while visiting. If the concept is successful, there is little doubt that other companies will try to copy it. And despite what some people seem to think, the original inventor or user of a certain technology is not necessarily the one who employs it to the fullest extent and makes money off of it. In fact, historically, that is rarely the case. Henry Ford didn't create the automobile or the assembly line, but he made them work. Apple didn't come up with the first MP3 player or even the first one with a hard drive, but they made it work. Nintendo didn't create video games with the NES, but they made it work. Nor were they the first users of touch screens, or motion control, or 3D, ect. Important facts to remember. --- 9 days to go, and I'm out of here.
Shibuto posted... From: YAMI_ANUBIS_X | #003 Im not trying to sound like a troll but you do know Sony PS VITA is basically Sonys version of what your saying and that was announced on Jan 27th 2011 before Nintendo announced Wii U. Yes you can use Vita as a PS3 controller, alot like how you will be using the Wii U controller but Vita, you can take anywhere. I'm going to quote a post I posted on another thread From: Shibuto | #054 lol wtf are we arguing here? If you're buying the PS Vita as a PS3 controller...you're buying it for the wrong reasons....don't act as if its the same, its not, the Vita is a 250 dollar machine, the Wii U Controller is going to cost way less than that... And those Wii U "defenders" stop pretending as if the tech is new....its innovative yes for a console to have it exclusively, but its not new. So basically you're trying to justify the PS Vita as a PS3 controller... It's not that it's justified to pay $250 for a controller lol. Heck I have trouble justifying paying $60 for the Dual Shock 3s unless its part of a bundle (like the ones packaged with LBP GOTY Edition, good deal imo). What's justified is that the Vita (theoretically) will be a portable system. I can't take my PS3 on the bus to work, ya know? So as a PS3 owner, you're paying for a somewhat cutting edge portable system that will probably have the Sony first party games you know and like, be able to take them on the go, AND be able to use it in conjunction with your PS3 at home. I don't have a need for portable gaming at the moment so I'm going to pass but the overall value seems pretty fair to me. What would make me mad is if you were forced to eventually buy Vita instead of having the onscreen menus as simply an alternative option from the regular display. The basic idea with Vita from what I understand is similar to GBA-GCN connectivity except you won't need GBAs/Vitas for each person that wants to play --- Support PHYSICAL (not digital) distribution, and keep control of games in the hands of customers. Also, buy the game NIER. It may not be perfect but the music.. |
