Another third party dev cautious of Wii U because of Nintendo audience

Check sale figures for Manhunt 2 and GTA china wars. It obviously shows what kind of audience Nintendo has, they really can't sell M rated games that are available on other consoles.

Is your argument really "check sale figures for these two terrible games"? Because I thin that would be a new low for this board and possibly website as a whole.

Guys, the 360 is terrible for third-parties, nobody is buying Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.

So, the Wii sells 90 million consoles worldwide and they don't think at least half of those are people that own a 360 or PS3 and are considered "core" gamers? What logic.

Those weren't exactly phenomenal games. In fact Manhunt 2 was a downright terrible game.

It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. "Nintendo gamers won't buy our games. We'll half-ass one experimental spinoff or new IP to see if that can change."

This.

If all 3rd part devs act cautiously when it comes to the Wii U then the Wii U will never develop a good 3rd party library and hardcore audience. If you want a hardcore audience on the Wii U the help make it you lazy devs.

Its down to the fact that most Nintendo fans know what they like & are used really well designed IP's if they can't see its promise early on then they simply won't buy into it & that's why IMO some developers fall short because their game design doesn't match what Nintendo put out.

So what I'm saying is that some (not all) developers need to step up their game.

I can see this as becoming a problem for Wii U honestly. First third party developers said "We're not developing on Wii because it's not powerful enough", now it's "We're not developing on Wii u because of the user base it has"

Both were an issue with the Wii, not just the former.

Its always something.....not surprised that its back to just demographics again (like in the Cube days), now that some of these devs can no longer use a lack of current tech as an excuse not to develop on a more than capable Nintendo machine.
