It sounds like to me Nintendo is giving up on the Wii and using all of their resources to build up the Wii U. Does this sum up what they are doing at the moment?
I doubt NoA has that big of an influence on the development of the Wii U. I'm actually hard pressed to think of stuff they're busy on right now besides localizing Zelda and Kirby.
What he said. In addition, anything NoA is busy doing NoE is also busy doing.

JRPGs have always had an elitist faction in europe that often supports more niche titles.
In the US, people tend to flock more towards the popular thing, and in that, JRPGs have been in steep decline.
