GCN vs. Wii: 2005 vs 2011 for US

GCN "core" releases in US: 2005 (1 year before Wii hits in the middle/end of the year, * means exclusive)

Battalion Wars*
Chibi-Robo!*
Fire Emblem 9*
Geist* (mixed reviews)
From Russia with Love
Gun
killer7 (Former part of Capcom 5)
Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness*
Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones (Haven't played this one, though the previous PoP games in the sub series were good, WP says reception was above average)
Resident Evil 4 (temporary exclusive)
Sonic Gems Collection (GCN only in US)
Star Fox: Assault *
Super Mario Strikers/Smash Football *
TimeSplitters: Future Perfect
Viewtiful Joe: Red Hot Rumble
(Honorable mention to Baten Kaitos Origins, which came in 2006 right before the Wii as an exclusive)

Wii "core" releases 2011 in US: 1 year before the Wii U hits at the middle/end of the year.
Conduit 2
Lost in the Shadow (mixed reviews, mostly saying it was more of a "tech demo")
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Kirby Wii
(River City Ransom 2 may come to the US given it is coming for Japan in Summer 2011)

At this point, the GCN is getting some of its best games of its life (FE9, XD, FP, RE4, and BK2. A lot of the others are also pretty good), the Wii however, has 2 titles with mixed reviews. They are a lot more comparable if you go by the EU releases for 2011+2012 compared to US 2005/2006, but there is no way you can make the US offerings look good)

I wonder where the Wii U will fall: ~4 years of support like GCN or 3 years like the US Wii.

List shows obvious bias. GC list is padded with stuff like Red Hot Rumble, From Russia With Love, and Starfox Assault, but the Wii list is missing things like Rhythm Heaven, The Kore Gang, De Blob 2, and Mario Sports Mix.

And besides, the list only looks bad in North America. In Europe it picks up Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower, which makes it look much better, easily better than GC's.

Also, Wii will have one big name in 2012, Dragon Quest X.
