hydra_dragonPosted 8/12/2011 11:32:11 AM | I would say Yay. Next, gen or next next gen, they should have built in wi-fi or atleast AT&T __G. --- Welcome to BlogFAQS. We talk about games and how they make you feel. |
LHS_2012Posted 8/12/2011 11:34:44 AM | Yay. If it wasn't for the fact that my pre-slim 360 is set up right next to my router, I would have a problem. --- Just look at all those Whos down at Whoville, singing, dancing, enjoying their games! ~ Grandy12 Gamertag: Starfish Hero |
New LinkPosted 8/12/2011 11:35:48 AM | Built in wifi - yes. Built in cellphone data plan - no. --- -SNES- Hasta Pasta! Sieh nur wie ich laufen kann... Mich fängst du nicht, ich bin der Lebkuchenmann! |
NyyarkPosted 8/12/2011 11:40:26 AM | Not having built in wifi is stupid beyond belief. |
strongo9Posted 8/12/2011 12:00:19 PM | Of course it's going to have built in wi-fi. The Wii had it. A 3G phone company plan? Hell no. --- I can't wait for Super Mario 3D, Mario Kart 3D, Paper Mario 3D, Luigi's Mansion 2, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Kirby Mass Attack, Kirby Wii, and Skyward Sword! |
omniryuPosted 8/12/2011 12:02:49 PM | 3DS should of had 3g or even 4G Wimax. But this is Wii U, why 3G? --- PSN ID: Omniryu; pkmn White FC: 3997 6383 0943 3DS FC: 1160 9831 1358 |
dunkisPosted 8/12/2011 12:30:02 PM | The day we can play online over a data plan is the day I'd sooner spend the money playing the 50 single player games I could otherwise afford in a year. --- 3DS 3394-3558-7825 |
darkjedilinkPosted 8/12/2011 12:36:28 PM | Why would I want to pay more money to play my games on a slower, crappier connection? --- Darkjedilink has what most would consider the Triforcelightning. -Nintendojitsu |

This article mentions the 802.11N wireless network standard which is a reference to the type of system the U will use. I have seen other sources confirming a more up to date wifi system as well for the next console.
As for any cell phone plan, yawn. As long as you can buy a phone that can be a mobile hotspot, you can use your wifi to tap into it and play though it will be most likely cruddy.
I believe even Sony said that the 3G for their Vita wont even let their people game online; it will be good for downloading things such as games from online, web browsing, getting updates, and perhaps the ability to know exactly where you are thanks to the gps in their Vita. So people we get to pay a monthly fee to allow them to download stuff on the go and cruise the web rather than using wifi. |

This.
There is absolutely no reason NOT to have it. --- This sig won't change until I either accomplish my life long dream to become an astronaut or I get tired of seeing it: started 9/24/08 |
