What's wrong with traditional synth music? The only thing holding it back is crappy composers. Good ones seem to Incorporated both synth and orchestrated(not sampled) together perfectly (Jesper Kyd). Or just simply making good music. Orchestras is not vastly superior to synth music or other forms of music. I really don't get the appeal of using orchestrated muisc in games. They rather sound boring most of the time(ironically some of them come from Nintendo).
